2005 Thanksgiving Celebration by The Thomas Ranch
2004, 2005, 2006, 2007.

2005 there was an air of dread hanging overhead of everyone, Russell’s upcoming deployment, and coming up in December 2005. But this would not stop the celebration that takes place each and every year.

We are no different than any other family out there. Across America November is a time for giving thanks. Thanks for all that we have. Thanks for the family that we have had the pleasure to be raised with and grew up with. Family is what we have married into and created, our own family. We at The Thomas Ranch are all our own created family. There is not a blood bond, but there is a family bond.

I personally look across the table and see Al. He sits at the head of the Thanksgiving table. He is in no way my blood father. He is my role model, my mentor, and the person I look up to and want to emulate and impress throughout the year. If I have a question there is no doubt in my mind that I can pick up the phone and call him no matter the time of day or what day it is. He has shown me how to step up and become a Father. A Father to children who I may not be the blood Dad too, but that I love nonetheless. I can’t wait to see what each one of our kids grows up to become. I hope that one day they may look back at me to say the same thing.

So in 2005 our Things to be Thankful for are “Al Thomas” a man who always does the hard right over the easy wrong. A Father, A Husband, A Friend, and a Papa. Thanks Al for all you have given us through the years.
